(Lakewood, Colo. - April 10, 2006) HomeSphere, a technology-leveraged
service provider to residential homebuilders, announced today that
longtime veteran of the homebuilding industry, Thomas W. Harper,
has been named vice president of supply chain services.
Harper brings 17 years of supply chain and logistics experience
to HomeSphere, 10 of which were in the new residential construction
industry. By creating this new position on their management team,
HomeSphere hopes to further develop productive relationships between
suppliers and builders through their rebate management services.
In addition to relationship management, Harper will have the responsibility
for developing and implementing HomeSphere’s new aggregated
builder product and material purchasing programs.
“We chose Tom for this important position because of his extensive
experience in supply chain management and logistics,” notes
Jim Waldrop, HomeSphere’s Chief Executive Officer. “Additionally,
with relationships on both the supply and the demand side of the
new residential construction industry, he will provide a great service
to HomeSphere’s diverse client base.”
Most recently, Harper led the team responsible for negotiating national
incentives and supply chain agreements with vendors as vice president
of strategic sourcing for Richmond American Homes (NYSE: MDC), the
ninth largest homebuilder in the U.S., producing more than 15,000
homes annually. He has also worked with Kohler Company as a national
accounts executive and as vice president of operations support with
USBuild, an organization providing specialized supply chain solutions
for production homebuilders.
Harper is a veteran of the United States Army, where he was positioned
at the Ordnance Branch as a logistics operation officer in charge
of operations for the largest ammunition supply facility in Europe.
Harper and his family live in Denver, Colo.
