This month HomeSphere builders and BTIG lent a hand to help fill in the gap in residential construction data created by the government shutdown.
According to the latest BTIG/HomeSphere Building Industry Report, the housing demand has stabilized after the significant drop seen in November. Materials costs are also easing up for many builders.
Highlights from the HomeSphere/BTIG Building Industry Report – January 2019
- 26% of HomeSphere builders reported that sales were better than expected; 34% reported worse than expected sales
- Only 36% of respondents reported higher YoY material costs (the lowest level in survey history)
- Roughly 40% of builders are still seeing land price increases
