Gold Nugget Awards Recognize Excellence in Home Building

Welcome to our first installment of Building Partnerships, where we’ll highlight the builders and brand partners who make up the HomeSphere community.
PCBC recently held their (virtual!) 2020 Gold Nugget Awards recognizing excellence in real estate development, including home building and commercial projects. We were proud — though not surprised! — to see five of our builders on the Grand Awards honoree list and we’d like to honor them again here.
The awards program is in its 57th year. Winners were chosen from a field of 550 national and international entries to make it to the top.

Dorn Homes
Award: Best Supportive/Transitional Housing
Recognized Community: The Lodges in Prescott, Arizona. The Lodges is an affordable housing property that can house four to six people who would otherwise be living in a shelter. Felten Group also contributed to the project.
About Dorn Homes: Dorn Homes’ mission is to “improve the lives of all those we touch,” and it guides what they do and what they stand for. For more than 52 years, Dorn Homes has been building homes in Arizona. They are now one of the largest privately held home builders in the state.
etco HOMES
Award: Best Multifamily Housing Community – 15 to 30 DU/Acre
Recognized Community: Villas at The Ambassador Gardens in Pasadena, California. The Villas are open-concept, tri-level townhomes offering three to four bedrooms and rooftop terraces. LCRA Architects and Casa Stilo also contributed to the project.

GHA Companies
Award: Residential Detached Collection of the Year
Recognized Community: The LX at Vibe in Palm Springs, California. The LX at Vibe features 72 single-family residences with up to four bedrooms. Woodley Architectural Group, Inc. and Design Tech also contributed to this project, with photography by Mark Davidson Photography.

Johnstone Moyer Inc.
Award: Best Multifamily Housing Community – 30 to 60 DU/Acre
Recognized Community: Neptune Marina in Marina Del Rey, California. Neptune Marina consists of four, five-story buildings with housing facilities totaling 526,654 square feet of residential area and parking garages. Greystar/Legacy Partners, TCA Architects and Mannigan Design Inc. also contributed to this project.

Wadman Corporation
Award: Best-on-the-Boards Affordable Housing Community
Recognized Community: 255 South State Street in Salt Lake City, Utah. This development includes 190 dwelling units per acre and varies between eight and 14 stories with mixed-use capabilities. Brinshore Development, LLC, KTGY Architecture + Planning and SAINT Studio also contributed to this project.
